Welcome to MTN's Michigan Morning Show Steve Gruber!

Steve Gruber has been a television professional and on air personality since 1987. His career began in Bozeman, Montana as the weatherman. New challenges arose sending him into the mainstream spotlight as an investigative reporter. With his ongoing success he earned 2 Emmy nominations during his time in the news world. He worked in news for more than 12 years then made the choice to chase his dream. Steve left the news business at the end of 2000 while working for NBC.

In 1993 Steve founded Wolf Creek Productions with photographer Tom Nichols. After leaving NBC he was able to devote all his time to what he enjoyed most (the outdoors). The company has grown into one of the most respected names in outdoor television today. The company’s programs include “Outdoor America”, which is the longest running series on The Outdoor Channel, where it debuted in the fall of 1994. Also featuring shows “The American Archer with Tom Nelson,” “The American Birdhunter with Tom Knapp,” “The Wingshooter,” “Steve Gruber’s Wild Life,” “Field and Stream’s Icons” and the all new hit series “Deer City USA!.” To date Wolf Creek has delivered over 1200 episodes of outdoor television to several networks.

Steve has enjoyed a very successful talk radio career and hosted the top rated series “Steve Gruber’s Wild Life” for 5 years as anchor on WJR-AM in Detroit. WJR is a Cumulus mega station reaching 38 states across the nation.

Steve’s ongoing success with TV has been rewarded with numerous awards for himself and Wolf Creek Productions. The awards include: 2 Teddy Roosevelt awards, Tellys, Auroras and several Golden Moose trophies as well.
